Anthony Ferguson Named to the 2017 Super Lawyers List
Super Lawyers is a glowing recognition of attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their area of practice, with designation reserved exclusively for the top 5% of attorneys in their state. This year, Anthony Ferguson has once again made the list for the seventh year!
This honor is a direct recognition of Anthony’s three decades of experience as a trial and appellate lawyer. His cases have set precedents in the field of personal injury law, and he has obtained settlements or verdicts worth millions of dollars for injury victims throughout Maine.
One such verdict, which came in at $4.4 million for a traumatic brain injury and neck injury, was the largest of its type in state legal history.
The Journey to the Award
In 1983, Anthony graduated cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law, and quickly distinguished himself by being admitted to practice in the state courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maine the same year. After serving as a law clerk for the Maine Supreme Judicial Court, he served as an assistant prosecutor for 18 months and then entered private practice, joining Fales & Fales P.A. in 1986.
Anthony’s practice is primarily dedicated to catastrophic personal injuries. Cases he regularly handles include motor vehicle accidents, prescription drug errors, slip and fall accidents, and wrongful death.
Other career highlights and accomplishments include:
- Recognition as one of the top one-half of one percent of attorneys in the country
- Recognition by New England Super Lawyers magazine as a personal injury “Super Lawyer” each year from 2011 to 2015.
- Membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum
- Nine-time inclusion in the National Trial Lawyers Association’s annual list of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers
