Bold Coast Scenic Byway
The Bold Coast Scenic Byway is recognized as 125 miles of Maine’s premier cultural and scenic destinations. Visitors of the bold coast can look out over Maine’s east coast to see waves crash along the rugged granite shore. Blueberries grown in abundance here and there are plenty of great coastal restaurants to eat at in communities between Milbridge and Eastport.
Mount Katahdin
As mentioned in the quiz, Mount Katahdin was considered “The Greatest Mountain” by the Penobscot Indians. Mount Katahdin stands as one of the great pinnacles of New England hiking and draws in adventurers from all over the country. The sites are breathtaking and certainly worth hiking for.
Georgetown
Georgetown is one of Maine’s best-kept secrets. Georgetown is home to Reid State Park and some of the most spectacular scenery and restaurants in the state. If you’d like to spend a weekend in a quiet, scenic, coastal town, Georgetown is worth looking into.
Angel Falls
Angel Falls is a 90-foot waterfall along Mountain Brook just northwest of Houghton. Angel Falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Maine with a set of plunging tiers. It’s a good destination for a day trip.

Check Your Car Before Leaving
Breakdowns can inconvenience or end a trip, but they could also result in injury or worse if you breakdown in the wrong location. You can prevent a breakdown by performing a maintenance check before you leave. Check your tire pressure, top off your wiper fluid, and verify that your car lights are working.
Plan For Traffic & Weather
The last thing you want to be driving through is dangerous weather or traffic conditions. Make sure to plan ahead and try to avoid driving on the days reports call for severe weather conditions. You can also use Google Maps to plot a course with the least amount of traffic. The safer your road trip route is, the better your road trip experience will be.
Pack An Emergency Kit
It’s always important when going on a trip to plan for the unexpected. Create an emergency kit with jumper cables, blankets, flares, a flashlight, extra water, food, and first aid supplies. In the event something should happen, you’ll be prepared.
Minimize Distractions
